Create an environmental policy
When funders and other stakeholders want evidence of an environmental commitment, the first thing they will look for is an environmental policy. Just like any other policy, an environmental policy should demonstrate your sustainability commitment, outline what you are doing and why you are doing it. Aim for a policy that integrates environmental considerations into every decision making process and area of your organisation. You should be confident that everything in your policy is achievable, and should include a commitment to regularly reviewing it.

Share your policy on your website
Sharing your policy on your website firstly creates more accountability and ensures climate action stays on your agenda, in turn encouraging cultural change. Environmental policies aren’t often seen publicly within the VCSE sector and doing so can set an example for others, inspiring them to do the same.
