Let's Go Green Together

Every VCSE organisation is different. Some are just beginning their environmental sustainability journey, while others are looking to build on existing work.

Going Green Together provides practical support, expert guidance and opportunities to learn alongside other organisations, helping you make progress in a way that works for your organisation.

What happens when you join?

Step 1: Get to know your organisation

One of our team will arrange an introductory conversation to understand your organisation, where you are on your environmental sustainability journey and the support that will be most valuable for you. We'll help you identify realistic next steps based on your priorities, capacity and resources.

Step 2: Explore the Sustainability Pathway

You'll gain access to our online Sustainability Pathway, a practical guide developed through our work with VCSE organisations across the North East since 2022.

The pathway is organised into nine flexible sections, helping you:

·      understand where your organisation is now

·      build knowledge and confidence

·      engage staff, volunteers and trustees

·      make the case for environmental sustainability

·      develop an environmental policy and action plan

·      connect with local networks and peer organisations

·      explore additional opportunities through our partners, Genee and SmartCarbon.

You can work through the pathway at your own pace, focusing on the areas that are most relevant to your organisation.

Step 3: Learn alongside others

Join regular workshops, webinars and peer support sessions where you can share experiences, learn from other VCSE organisations and discover practical ideas that have worked in real organisations across the North East.

Step 4: Put your plans into action

As your organisation develops, we'll continue to provide practical support, guidance and opportunities to help you turn ideas into meaningful environmental action. Whether you're taking your first steps or building on existing work, we're here to support your progress.

Step 5: Access additional opportunities

As part of Going Green Together, you'll also have access to opportunities delivered with our trusted partners, including SmartCarbon and Genee. These include specialist expertise, practical tools and subsidised support to help your organisation go even further on its sustainability journey.

Most organisations won't follow exactly the same path — and that's okay. We'll help you focus on the support that's most relevant to your organisation.
